Miss North America

The Miss North America Pageant happens to be one of the localized pageants in which women who aspire to be a kind of Miss Canada could join. The women who can join the Miss North America pageant need to prove that they are anywhere from twenty to thirty-four years old. They also need to be able to prove that they are proper citizens of the North American continent, which includes not just the provinces of Canada, but also all the states of the United States of America. Some South American territories like Antigua, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago are also considered to be qualified to join the Miss North America Beauty Pageant. Even if there isn’t a Miss North America director in your area, you can still enter by paying a certain amount of money for sponsorship – for the 2009 pageant, the sponsorship fee is six hundred and seventy-five American dollars.

The participants will be judged on the following criteria: grace, poise, and eloquence. The women who join the Miss North America Pageant could expect to have a private interview with the judges, during which they will be judged for their eloquence. Contestants are then asked to introduce themselves within a time limit of not more than three minutes, followed by the modeling of a dressy casual outfit. The final test would, of course, be the evening gown competition. The last three events will determine the grace and poise of the Miss North America contestant. Each of the four events is equivalent to twenty-five percent of the overall score.

The appeal of the Miss North America Pageant is that it gives the contestants the exposure that they need in order to be a success in media. Most of the contestants who join this will find themselves doing modeling work as a prize, which in turn increases their chances of getting better offers in the industry. This year, the prize is the 2009 Fall Cover and 2009 back cover of SuperModels Unlimited Magazine. The pageant itself will be held in New Hampshire, from the ninth of July to the twelfth of July 2009.
